Clamouring Silence

How should I confess
My lonely days
To one who does gaze
At my robes and stares
At jewels and gems
And feels what she sees
To be the real deal?

I can't make a show
Of misery and sorrow
And wallow
In the charity you throw!

Words are just all
That I'll ever have.
So if there's one
Who cares and craves,
Read on, I say -
Decipher if you dare.
(But try not to curse
If you find only you)

Wow! This piece has a superb personal touch, as if it is meant for someone, yet actually it is for any reader. Brilliantly executed.

The precise reason why Ulysses got overshadowed is the mysterious power of this piece. This could easily be a poem of confession of love for someone. But then maybe it's not.Coz somehow it has contradictions in its claims. On one hand the person is aware of her gaze but also cant open up to her though he needs to do so badly. He also doesnt want her somehow. On the other hand,he says his words are full of her.Now who is this she?Is this a woman?love?a lost life? Reflections of a reader sometimes confuses himself. How did you intend it?Is it a confession or am I misreading again?

If I speak honestly about this poem I'll end up unravelling to others the cherished contradictions of my being. The glittering robe may just be reduced then to a tattered rag.Let the mystery remain...

cherished contradictions... well well, why so unsure of urself?will that possibly hurt her?or r u scared about ur own acceptability?dark reasons?Goodness,u dont sound like one having any.Anyways,as long both r happy with it all's well.Just dont get misundrstood by the one who matters. If she cant swallow the contradiction,ur gone!and yes,I absolutely LOVED the bracketed part.trust me,it was almost like a romantic whisper in the ears.it can send shivers down the spine ;)

Mr.Chakraborty,I learned a lesson from life today and was immediately reminded of your lines. We should always respect the rags beneath because its these very rags that make the gems and jewels shine, ofcourse if they are acquired and not merely inherited. There are rags to each and every person. One must consider them properly in others as well as one's own and only then can the real value of rags and riches be judged. We are afraid of our rags because we dont have an attitude to accept others' as well.We love the illusion of perfection. But we are fragile and mortal and our vanities, insecurities only highlight the narratives of such frailties.Sounds like sudden philosophy I know, maybe I just shared this little lesson by virtue of the word 'friend' that you had honoured me with in 'Tonight'.
Anyways,no posts?A high and dry April. Is it indeed the cruellest month?Hope not.

This is the time of Bengali new year. so 'Shubho Naboborsho' (Happy New Year).
You must admit, the last three months have been very fruitful.I guess, my inspiration's on sabbatical.

which lines did your lesson actually remind you of? and yes, as a 'friend', do drop the oh-so-formal 'Mr.Chakraborty'. sounds rather odd.

I ws actually reminded of th rags undr riches thng I hd read here & th anxiety f exposure tht hd bn exprssed.I knew a very glam & brilliant lady whm i alwys admired,i nvr knew beyond her 'glittering gems & jwls' & neithr did she evr shw hr rags 2 any1,nt evn her shrink strangely.Ystrday I ws allwd inside her vry soul & th rags bared.I ws uncmfrtbl & th sheen ws threatened initially,bt thn seeing the robes knwng th rags inside provided a bttr appreciation.I recalled u hd sd: The glittering robe may just be reduced then to a tattered rag.Thrfr...
