Doves

They shimmied on sky
Over motors and horns
And flew through my pallor of grey
As networks of wings
Beyond drains full of filth
With immaculate whiteness of
Indelible gleam.

Beautiful, Abin! The beauty of birds flying (even over so much pollution) is a sight to behold. Thankfully we humans can always look UP!

'shimmied' is such a fresh, original way to describe bird flight. What a great opening line.

I'm with Other Mary - dancing doves who shimmy, are special - but were you perhaps thinking of 'shimmer', too?

Yes Jinsky.Shimmer too.but opted for shimmy as it seemed more appealing here :)
