A black and white face
with slant little gaze
tugs at the heartstrings
in unusual ways
and croons a new ballad
of soft purple days
tinted with twilighted rays that'll lace
my prayers with the incense of grace.
My lines that'll lilt
with such juvenile rhymes
on which neither muse
nor cupid now shines
are fit but for irrelevant sighs.
So gather your tickets and fly;
I who just deal in sarcastic words
will neither lose sleep or cry.

I am always happy for the opportunity to read your rhymes. Hope you are keeping well, Abin.
Beautifully written, Abin :)
Poets are in the business of mass production and churn out their poems pleasing themselves and sometimes the readers. We are literary industrialists!
Oh those little rhymes that bother the muse, but they are good for making a point.
Hmmm - thinking about this one, Abin! My guess is that the black and white face is a little dog, as a puppy can often pull "at the heartstrings in unusual ways."
"...twilighted rays that'll lace
my prayers with the incense of grace."
That is just beautiful! The scent, the colors, the idea it brings to mind.
Funny how you start off with a simple 'just because' and then along the way it developers rhyme as well as reason
This was a lovely write
have a beautiful Sunday Abin
much love...
I love "and crowns a new ballad of soft purple days".
Love pondering your verse Abin!

Nice poem. I enjoyed the second verse.
Have a pleasant Sunday, Abin.
Seems like any excuse is a good one! (Smile.)
Your poem is so much more than a mere excuse. Your rhyme is lovely. I enjoyed so many lines especially the one about twilighted rays, prayers, the incense of grace. There is sophistication in this - so much more than simple rhyme. I enjoyed this much and don't want a ticket to fly. I'd rather stick around and read.
after a long time brother..and the lyricality and the rhythm makes it worth the wait..vamos..the heart calls for a ghazal...
